I think President is doing a great job, however the way he screwed over rail workers labor union last week is disgraceful. President Biden spent the past several months encouraging Americans to vote to save democracy. Rail workers voted against a labor contract they felt was insufficient, and the President’s response was an appeal to congress to nullify the will of rail workers. Biden could have publicly appealed to rail company owners to make a better offer. Instead he played politics.

It’s been said that the White House was in “back channel” negotiations with rail companies, the problem as I see it is that Biden’s public appeal focused on rail workers not companies. Biden’s refusal to be as public in calling for rail companies to make a better offer unfairly pitted rail workers against their employer, their government and public opinion. Biden presented a false choice: rail workers rights, or the economy.

In fact, the actual dynamic was rail workers rights versus rail companies profits. Let me know what you think . . .
